Wow. It's been a year and a quarter since our Jason died.

And a year + three quarters since we lost beautiful Nicole.

Grief has led me on a new path of discovery. First I joined the local Threshold Choir. And, after a year of singing.... I was ready to begin my work with Hospice.

Now I have complete the Hospice Volunteer orientation and today... I am on my way to visit with three families.

Wish me well.

all the best to you for your selfless hard way. not too many people would choose to respond to the degree of your loss in life with as much graciousness. i congratulate you on your noble heart and wish blessings for you and your family!

Three visits later... and I am filled with gratitude. To the three families that are sharing these last months with me. We are singing, talking, and reading together.

Now I have purchased a book of rather sappy, short Christmas stories to read at bedsides. (All my families are Catholic.) Those stories will begin next week... at Thanksgiving time.

And I ahve learned a new song to share:

      The Turtle Remembers.

      "The turtle remembers
      A dream in December
      Alone with God.

      Alone with the songs,
      of the whales
      Returning, returning."

I so love that song! Could sing it all day.

      Peace,

      Amma
